JOIN THE RUN CORK VOLUNTEER CREW
A city half marathon doesn't happen without the people in hi vis. Our volunteers keep 3,500 runners safe, fuelled and cheered from the Marina to Blackrock and back. No experience needed, just a few hours on a Sunday morning and plenty of energy.

Volunteer roles
Find your spot on course
Choose your preferred role when you sign up and we'll do our best to put you there.
Hand out race packs and help runners find their numbers.
Direct runners around the course, keep them safe and give plenty of encouragement.
Set up the station and keep the water flowing to every runner.
Help with setup, bag drop and getting runners into their start pens.
Hand out medals and water and help runners collect their bags.
Bring the noise at the quiet stretches. Ideal for clubs and groups.

Do I need any experience?
No. Every role comes with a briefing and a team leader on the day.
How long is a shift?
Most race day roles run from early morning until early afternoon. Your exact time is confirmed with your role.
Can I volunteer with my club or group?
Yes. Groups are welcome and we'll try to place you together. Mention your group when you sign up.
Is there a minimum age?
Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian volunteering with them.
What should I bring?
Warm layers, rain gear and comfortable shoes. It's Cork in February.
